Photo of the Day: Bridge No. 24, Central Park

A couple of weekends ago, while in the Upper East Side, I strolled over a few blocks to Central Park, in the Eighties. I was particularly taken with this scene that I photographed.

Bridge No. 24, the park’s website notes, is “one of the oldest examples of cast iron bridges in America.” It is also a runner’s mecca, as it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from the reservoir running track, and it provides a place to stretch, catch one’s breath and think about how much better you’ll feel after you’re done with your exertions on a hot summer day.
